The WWE Draft 2024 is finally over. With the superstars finally settling into their new homes, it seems like Raw certainly has gotten better of this year’s shake-up. It was a two-night event that started on last week’s SmackDown and concluded on this week’s Raw. Many superstars switched brands, such as Shinsuke Nakamura, Nia Jax, and Bron Breakker.

The trajectory has certainly changed. As it looks, stars Drew McIntyre, Jey Uso, CM Punk, Gunther, Sheamus, and even Judgment Day have all found their homes on Raw. With such a stacked roster, it won’t be an understatement to say that Monday nights have become a must-see. Nonetheless, SmackDown also had a star-studded roster of Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, The Bloodline, and AJ Styles.

However, when it comes to NXT call-ups, Raw went all out with their picks. Stars like Lyra Valkyria, Dijak, Bron Breakker, and even the former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov were all drafted to the red brand. For SmackDown, two notable call-ups from NXT were Carmelo Hayes and Blair Davenport.

Keeping everything above in mind, Raw has the upper hand in this year’s draft. With all the fired-up storylines rising on the red brand, it seems fans will be tuning in to the show more than ever. It is going to be interesting to see how things are going to be executed for each brand.

Speaking on the Busted Open Podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer said that it was more like a shake-up than an actual WWE draft. He revealed his expectations for a draft by saying that it should have call-ups, fresh talents, and young blood in it. However, WWE simply switched a few superstars from one brand to the other.

I gave it some thought about the word 'draft, when we think of 'draft,' [we think of] people from college coming up, new people, fresh people, young blood, and that really pertains to 'NXT.'

He also noted that the Draft lost its predictability this year, making it less exciting. Moreover, Bully advised WWE to make some changes to their plans for next year’s edition. The WWE Hall of Famer expressed his desire to see better execution by WWE in terms of superstars exchanging their brands.
