The Royal Challengers Bengaluru has appointed Dinesh Karthik as the batting coach and mentor for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Given his eclipsing persona, Karthik’s inclusion to the side will be a massive boost for all the known and the new players who will be joining the team for the next season of the auction alike.

Dinesh Karthik joined the RCB franchise for the first time in 2015 and also went onto play for another season as his first stint in the tournament came to an end in 2016. In his first IPL season for RCB he could only garner 141 runs while for the following season he managed to smash 335 runs at a strike rate of 125.93.

Despite 2023 being a bummer, he came to form in 2024 and was seen in an even more intimidating avatar as he whacked around at will, smashing 326 runs at a strike rate of 187.36. At the end of the last season of the IPL, he called it a day from the fray as a player.

Coaching at a professional level is incredibly exciting for me and is something I'm truly passionate about as a new chapter in my life. Hopefully, the breadth of my experiences as a player can contribute to the development of the group and bring added value.
