The NASCAR community is pissed off at the premier stock car racing leadership, after chats that made public as part of the charter lawsuit exposed the toxicity. Biggest bombshell among the texts was the interaction between Steve Phelps and Brian Herbst from August 2023, that were insulting Hall of Famer Richard Childress.

Many veterans and insiders of the sport shared their disappointment with the leadership on social media. Now Richard Childress Racing has also addressed the situation in a statement that they shared on social media. They asserted that the team and personals at the seven-championship winning team is deeply disappointed with the defamatory comments.

RCR and Richard Childress are deeply disappointed by the insensitive and defamatory statements made about Mr. Childress in recently surfaced text messages between NASCAR executives Steve Phelps and Brian Herbst.

RCR insisted that the comments from Phelps and Herbst shows how the stock car racing executives had it out for his team historically, hinting they, like many similar teams, were being unfairly targeted. They highlighted how devoted the HOF has been to developing the sport. The accusation of targeting behaviour is concerning, considering RCR is one of the most heavily punished teams in the Next-Gen era.

These comments reflect the way certain NASCAR executives have historically viewed and treated many team owners like Mr. Childress, who have devoted their lives to strengthening the sport for its fans, its sponsors, and all who compete in it.

RCR asserted.

Furthermore, they asserted that everyone from the crew to the NASCAR fans, as well as the associates of the former racer, is disappointed with the chat leaks. They have already started discussing potential legal actions, and is in conversation with the lawyers over the resurfaced comments.

RCR and Richard Childress are equally disappointed for the NASCAR fans, with whom Mr. Childress closely identifies, given his humble and hard-working background. Mr. Childress and the organization will issue no further statements regarding these or other defamatory text messages that have recently surfaced, as legal action is being contemplated and discussed with legal counsel.

There are a few personals in the NASCAR community that is respected on the same level as Richard Childress, as even his arch enemies appreciate his contributions to the sport. The chat has shown to majority of the teams how much the sport value them and how little they are respected, despite being the biggest contributors to their success.

23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports can take advantage of the resentment that has devolved with in the sport. They will be able to gather favorable details as well as testimonies from personals with in the racing community, in the anti-trust lawsuit that is going to change the sport forever regardless of the results.

There will be more leaks and controversies in the future once the trial starts in December 1st. The racing community needs to brace themselves for disappointments. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout in the coming years.
