Rohan Bopanna, one time Grandslam champion has arrived in Melbourne for the Australian Open 2021. Following his arrival in Melbourne, the Indian was sent into a 14-day quarantine which is mandatory for all players arriving in Australia. Bopanna shared a video on Instagram, in which he arrives in Melbourne after a 50 hour trip and he gives his fans a glimpse of his room in the short video.

Good Morning from Melbourne everyone,” Bopanna wished his fans. “Happy to be finally be here after a 50-hour trip. Here is a notice of my detention,” the Indian said. Bopanna is currently quarantining in the Hotel named ‘View.’ Further in the video, the Indian shows the goodies he received, a carton of tennis balls, and some house cleaning tools. Bopanna ends the his video in high spirits by saying, “Let’s get the ball rolling.”

Rohan Bopanna has not had his best performances at the Australian Open. The Indian’s best run in Melbourne in the men’s doubles event is only till the third round. However, Bopanna did manage to reach the finals of the Australian Open mixed doubles event in 2018 where he partnered alongside Timea Babos.

Last year, Rohan Bopanna lost in the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles event at the Australian Open. In the men’s doubles event he lost in the first round itself partnering Y.Uchiyama. The pair lost to the Bryan Brothers in three sets. The Indian will look to put in a much better performance this time around.
