The Los Blancos are surprisingly auctioning off their prized assets to cover some of the costs incurred during the Santiago Bernabeu renovation process. Real Madrid has decided to sell 24 iconic player lockers. It includes the ones used by legends Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, and David Beckham

The massive £500 million Santiago Bernabeu redevelopment project has led Real Madrid to make a decision to sell some of their old relics and assets to offset the costs of the renovation. Renowned auction house ‘Sothebys’ will conduct the auction. It will begin on the 12th of November when the club’s iconic collection displays the items for exhibition in London.

Each locker expects to receive a starting bid of a reserve price of £10000. A part of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Real Madrid Foundation. These lockers will seek a huge amount, previously used by players from the ‘Galacticos era’ between 2002 and 2022.

The owners of the lockers include Ronaldo, Beckham, Zidane, Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema, and Luis Figo, among others. ‘Sothebys’ through its official social media account, expressed its privilege to receive the honor to stage this one-of-kind auction.

Apart from the lockers, several other items from Real Madrid’s massive collection will also be up for sale. This includes a giant, three-meter wide mosaic of the club’s crest, which remains set at a reserve price of £12000. Metal doors surrounding the Bernabeu will also feature in the auction.

Real Madrid lose to AC Milan in the Champions League encounter

The Los Blancos took on AC Milan in the UCL at the Santiago Bernabeu last night. They hoped to make a comeback from their recent El Clasico defeat. Both the clubs will be up with a formidable starting XI.

Real Madrid didn’t have Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba, and Dani Carvajal due to injury. Andriy Lunin started in goal for the Los Blancos, with Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, Lucas Vazquez, and Ferland Mendy in defense. Federico Valverde, Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Jude Bellingham are expected to start in the midfield. Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe started upfront.

Unfortunately, the team lost 1-3 at home against AC Milan. They had ten shots on target for 23 shots. However, their goal came from a penalty kick taken by Vinicius Jr. Despite lacking in possession, AC Milan countered very well and took Madrid by surprise to win the game.
