Real Madrid’s injury woes have continued throughout the season and it shows no signs of slowing down even during the final stages. Dani Carvajal, the first choice right-back for Zidane is the latest casualty to the list.

The right-back suffered an injury to the muscle in the first match of the Champions League against Chelsea. This is the 57th injury that has occurred at Real Madrid this season.

Carvajal missed training on Thursday morning, and tests have confirmed a muscle tear.

The Real Madrid players were given the day off on Wednesday, yet the image of the right-back shaking his head and saying “no” as he made his way off against Chelsea – he was replaced by Alvaro Odriozola in the 77th minute – shows that he knew that there was a problem.

Dani Carvajal suffers his 5th injury this season

A statement released on Real’s official website reads: “Following the tests carried out today on our player Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the muscle. His recovery will be monitored.”

This is the Spaniard’s 5th injury this season and the defender has just made 15 appearances only this season. His appearances are over for this season and Zidane will have to bank on Alvaro Odriozola for the remaining fixtures.
