The FIFA-ranked world’s number one footballing nation displayed brilliance, as they defeated Colombia at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida. Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez scored the match’s only goal in the 112th minute. This victory adds to Lionel Messi‘s international trophy cabinet, which includes the 2021 Copa America, the 2022 Finalissima, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The win also marked a record 16th Copa America title for the team.

Meanwhile, the Argentinean skipper was left-teary eyed, as he had to depart the pitch after getting injured in the second-half. He was even spotted crying on the bench with a swollen ankle, but his side ultimately prevailed. Moreover, the South American side equaled Spain’s notable achievement in international football history. Spain had won consecutive European Championships in 2008 and 2012, along with a FIFA World Cup victory in 2010.
