Manchester City star, Rodri could be on Real Madrid’s transfer list, with the club reportedly prioritising a move for the 28-year-old defensive midfielder next summer. The Spanish midfielder would, however, cost a fortune, around £100 million.
Rodri has transformed himself into the best defensive midfielder of this generation. Signed for a massive fee of £62.8 million in 2019 from Atletico Madrid, the Spaniard has made more than 250 appearances for Manchester City, while also going on to win four Premier League titles, one UCL title, and a FIFA Club World Cup. Known for his ball control, passing abilities, and tactical intelligence, the 28-year-old most recently won the 2024 Euros with Spain while also being awarded the best player of the tournament.
Despite having established himself in England, Rodri could now be poised to move to Real Madrid next summer, with president Florentino Perez highly appreciative of the midfielder. Los Blancos, would however have to break the bank to sign the midfielder, whose market value is around €130 million. In case of a transfer, he would be a part of an already robust Madrid midfield which includes Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Luka Modric.
