Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti were in desperate need of a win. Coming off the back of two embarrassing defeats against FC Barcelona and AC Milan, the club needed a convincing victory to get over the recent set of results. As expected, Vinicius Jr. and the rest of his teammates delivered a 4-0 win in front of their fans against Osasuna on Saturday.

A sublime hat-trick from Vinicius Jr. coupled with Jude Bellingham‘s first League goal of the season gave enough reason for celebration. Vinicius opened the scoring in the 34th minute, before completing his hat-trick with two goals in quick succession near the hour mark. Fans applauded the forward for finally living up to his words after being snubbed of the Ballon d’Or.

Despite the win, Madrid fans were disheartened upon seeing two of their starters go out injured within the span of ten minutes. Rodrygo was subbed off for Brahim Diaz for a calf injury whereas Eder Militao had to be stretched off while in tears after tearing his ACL.

Vinicius Jr. stuns Santiago Bernabeu with sublime hat-trick

Vinicius Jr. has been a man on a mission ever since missing out on the 2024 Ballon d’Or to Rodri. However, his hat-trick against Osasuna on Saturday established among fans that he is here to stay and will do whatever it takes to get Real Madrid back to the top. His first goal of the game was set up by Jude Bellingham, although the Brazilian did most of the work to beat Sergio Herrera from close range.

His second goal was set up by Andriy Lunin after some quick thinking by the keeper set up Vinicius on a 1v1. He then proceeded to round the keeper with ease before passing the ball into an empty net. Madrid’s fourth and Vinicius’ third of the night came solely from a defensive error as Brahim Diaz picked the pocket of Flavien Boyomo.

With the win, Real have managed to put an end to their losing streak. They play their next game against Leganes in La Liga before making the difficult trip to Anfield in a Champions League clash. Manager Carlo Ancelotti recently announced his goal to win the UCL in its new format before calling time on his career.
