Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. opened up on his ambitions for the season, in a recent interview. The 24-year-old forward also explained how playing in two Champions league finals was a ‘dream’ come true for him.

Vinicius Jr. has become Real Madrid’s most important player over the last seven seasons. He has remained the club’s top scorer with 98 goals and 84 assists in 290 appearances. At just 24 years old, the Brazilian winger has won two UCL, three La Liga and two FIFA Club World Cup titles. He has now also scored in two Champions League finals, in 2022 and 2024.

He had an eventful last year, guiding the club to the La Liga, UCL and Supercup titles. It made Vinicus Jr. one of the front-runners to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or. However, he was snubbed in favor of Manchester City star Rodri. Despite the setback, the 24-year-old ended the year with two major individual accolades, FIFA Best Men’s Player and the Globe Soccer Player of the Year award.

Speaking in an interview, Vinicius reflected on his journey from watching the UCL on television to playing in it. He highlighted his aim to make history by scoring in multiple UCL finals. Moreover, the young forward also reiterated his focus on helping in the team’s success, prioritizing trophies over personal records. Vini noted the need to remain humble in order to achieve that.

The most important thing is always the team’s success, winning trophies comes first, not personal records. To achieve that, we need to stay grounded and focus solely on the next game, taking it step by step.

Nonetheless, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the Brazilian winger. He is expected to return to action, when Real Madrid takes on RB Salzburg in the UCL next. Vinicius Jr. is yet to make an impact this season, and has scored just once in his last five appearances.

Real Madrid make Vinicius Jr. transfer stance clear, amid Saudi Arabia push

Vinicius Jr.’s future at Real Madrid has remained a subject of speculation, despite the player having a contract until 2027. The 24-year-old forward has remained a target for several Saudi PL clubs for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli are among the clubs interested in him. However, Real Madrid are not worried about losing Vinicius Jr., despite claims. The club is ready to offer him a new contract at the end of the season, making him one of Real Madrid’s highest-earners. Additionally, Vini has a massive €1 billion release clause, making it difficult for any team to make an offer.

Therefore, all of these factors make it highly unlikely for the Brazilian forward to make a transfer move. Real Madrid would now be hoping for the 24-year-old to forge a partnership with Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo for the years to come.
