Real Madrid vs. PSG: Real Madrid hosted PSG at the Santiago Bernabeu in the 2nd Leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
PSG showed authority in the first half, keeping a large share of the possession. Kylian Mbappe was the name again as he repeated his 1st leg feat with another goal, beating Thibaut Courtois in the near corner. The home team found it difficult to navigate through the field in the first 45 minutes.
But the 13-times UCL winners came all guns blazing in the second half. They attacked the first ball and played with intent. Karim Benzema scored a scintillating hat-trick in 17 minutes to carry his team single handedly into the quarters.

Thibaut Courtois (6.2/10): Real Madrid player Courtois could’ve done better to keep out Mbappe’s shot which led to a goal.
Daniel Carvajal (6.8/10): Carvajal tried his best but could not keep up with Mbappe’s speed. He was booked for an obvious foul in the second half and was replaced.
Eder Militao (7.3/10): Militao did well in the backline as he made crucial tackles and interceptions.
David Alaba (7.5/10): Alaba was the only defender who looked in control against Mbappe. His positioning was good throughout and kept the PSG forwards at bay.
Nacho Fernandez (7.2/10): Fernandez had a good game on the left flank. He defended compactly and cut down the space.

Luka Modric (8.6/10): Modric was at his usual best in the midfield. The maestro controlled the midfield and made a fantastic run to provide a crucial assist for a Benzema goal.
Toni Kroos (7.5/10): Kroos made a few good passes and distributed the ball around well. He made way for youngster Camavinga in the second half.
Federico Valverde (7.7/10): Valverde distributed the ball well and was the link between the defenders and attackers. He played an important part in the win.
Marco Asensio (6/10): Asensio had two good opportunities to score but scuffed both of them. He was subbed off in the second half.
Karim Benzema (9.8/10): Benzema’s performance was one of the greatest clutch performances in UCL history. He scored a mind-boggling hat-trick to bolster his team into the next round.
Vinicius Jr (8.6/10): Vinicius looked lively on the left wing, dribbling and beating defenders. He got an assist to his name as he passed a good ball to Benzema, who converted it into a goal.

Rodrygo (6.5/10): Rodrygo came on and was switched on from the first minute. He made good runs and attracted fouls.
Eduardo Camavinga (6.7/10): Camavinga came on and showed a range of passing and bossed the midfield.
Lucas Vazquez (7/10): Vazquez had a brilliant game coming on as a sub. He restricted Mbappe’s runs on the wing and went forward to push his team.


PSG

Gianluigi Donnarumma (4.5/10): Donnarumma made a vital mistake as he gave away the ball which resulted in a goal and conceded 2 more later.
Achraf Hakimi (6/10): Hakimi did not get enough balls on the wing to make an attacking impact. But he did his defensive work.
Marquinhos (4.8/10): The PSG skipper had an abysmal night at the Bernabeu. He made an error that led to a goal for Madrid.
Presnel Kimpembe (5.5/10): Kimpembe lacked organization in the back and was rugged in his tackles, conceding free kicks in dangerous positions.
Nuno Mendes (5.7/10): Mendes didn’t really do much in the game and was ineffective.

Danilo Pereira (6.5/10): Pereira had an average game as he played very deep in the defensive half and could not distribute the ball as he usually does.
Marco Verratti (7.2/10): Verratti continued his form from the 1st leg. He tackled with confidence and won the ball more often than not.
Leandro Paredes (6.5/10): Paredes got booked for showing dissent to the referee’s verdict in the first half. He had a decent game after that, but was replaced by Gueye in the second half.
Neymar (7.8/10): Neymar provided the assist for Mbappe’s goal and looked good in attack, but he did not press with intent when not in possession.
Lionel Messi (7.1/10): Messi played deep at times, keeping the ball and passing around. He tried to impact the game, but Madrid players made it compact, forbidding him to move freely.
Kylian Mbappe (8.2/10): Mbappe’s pace was electric and he made life difficult for Madrid’s defenders. He scored again in the second leg, but it was not enough for PSG to go through.
