Real Madrid, the reigning La Liga Champions, are ready to spend €30 million to re-sign their former player, Theo Hernandez, from AC Milan. Spanish news outlet Fichajes reports that Hernandez is on the interest list of Los Blancos as they want to sign a new left back. Therefore, they are ready to match Hernandez’s €30 million valuation.

Hernandez has been at his absolute best since he made his move to AC Milan. He was an integral part of the team that won the Serie A title in the 2021/22 season. Although the club have been inconsistent with their performances, Hernandez has been a consistent performer for his side.

The player has amassed 31 goals and 41 assists in close to 250 matches that he has played for the club. However, there are doubts about the future of the 27-year-old as his relationship with Paulo Fonseca has become strained. Due to his worsening situation at Milan, many clubs are interested in making a move for the left-back. Madrid are leading the line, but they won’t pay an amount exceeding €30 million.

The situation of the left backs in Real Madrid is not alright. Carlo Ancelotti does not have enough quality in that position. Ferland Mendy has been inconsistent this season, and Fran Garcia has not earned the confidence of the manager. Hence, Los Blancos want to make a move for Hernandez.

How will the move of Theo Hernandez to Real Madrid face a problem?

Recent reports have stated that the player in question also wants to return to the Santiago Bernabeu. When Real Madrid comes calling, there are only a few players who can hold back their interest in moving to the Bernabeu. However, the move can be problematic if Milan wants a fee of more than €30 million. In that case, Ancelotti’s side will wait for his contract to expire in the summer of 2026 and then sign him as a free agent.

Now, it remains to be seen if the player moves in the summer of 2025 or moves for free in the summer transfer window of 2026. Ideally, Milan should cash in on him in the summer transfer window of 2025 when they will be able to get a hefty value for selling him.

AC Milan are eighth in the Serie A points table with 26 points in 16 matches. They have won seven matches, drawn five, and lost four games.
