Serena WIlliams
Serena Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam champion, is en route to place her bid for the Australian Open 2021. Herein, the American will be aiming to lift the title so as to level up with Margaret Court’s Grand Slam record of 24. While the majority believes that the 39-year-old has a lot of fuel left in her engine, Williams hasn’t claimed a Major title since 2017.
Even so, in the past season, Serena succeeded to reach the semi-final of the U.S Open. Here, she lost against Victoria Azarenka in three-sets. Following this bout, the tennis ace was forced to withdraw from the French Open due to a prominent achilles injury. However, after a long break, Williams is back on court and is gearing up to make history.
Williams’ rigid schedule
Serena has enjoyed dominance on the WTA Tour for over two decades. Along with this masterful achievement, she has also proved to be a master of all trades. As it happens, the American has major investments in various businesses as well. She was the Chief Sporting Officer at Aston Martin. Further, the player launched her own fashion line called S by Serena in 2019. In addition to this, she is on the Board of Directors at the company, Survey Monkey as well.
Williams has recently opened up about balancing between tennis and her business-related responsibilities. In an interview with Fast Company, she stated, “Morning time is tennis time and afternoon time is business time. I’m really, really organized with my time.”
She enforces this rigid schedule for tennis from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. During this period, those around her know of her unavailability. Serena is hoping to bear the fruits of her labour at the Australian Open 2021.
