This week’s SmackDown had a certain someone missing that was noticed by many fans throughout the show. It was the absence of WWE legend Michael Cole from the commentary booth. Now the veteran has given an update, revealing the reason behind his unusual leave.
Speaking on WFAN, Michael Cole disclosed that he has been on a 10-day vacation with his family to Cozumel, Mexico. Therefore, it was the reason behind his absence from this week’s SmackDown. Considering the time span of his leave, he is expected to be back on the show by next week.
It was announced on SmackDown that Cole had been out on a ‘special assignment’. However, no further details were given about Cole. His shoes were filled by Wade Barrett, who teamed up with Corey Graves to call play-by-play action on Friday.
Furthermore, the 55-year-old veteran moved to SmackDown a few months ago. He has been an entertaining aspect of the show ever since with his ongoing beefs with stars like Chelsea Green and Bayley. It is going to be interesting to see him continue his playful rivalry with the stars upon his return next week.
Michael Cole provided a massive update on his WWE future
