Refs not calling an obvious hip-drop tackle against Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs doesn’t sit well with fans – “They don’t even hide the cheating”
Kansas City Chiefs safety Bryan Cook escaped without any penalties even after lodging a hip drop tackle on Texans tight end Dalton Schultz.

Rival fans have often complained about the referee’s leniency toward Kansas City Chiefs defenders and they were handed a new example to add to their collection. They seemed convinced that the referee missed a hip drop tackle from Chiefs Bryan Cook on a Houston Texans player.
Midway through the game in Kansas City on Saturday, Chiefs safety Bryan Cook tackled Texans tight end Dalton Schultz but in a bad manner. Cook grabbed Schultz from behind and yanked him down to the ground, almost like a gator in a swamp.
Schultz was genuinely surprised and then unhappy with the referee for ignoring Cook’s tackle.
You're not gonna see a more clear "hip drop tackle" but of course no flag because it's the Kansas City Chiefs pic.twitter.com/K5p0CDAI3l

Rival fans call out biased refereeing against Texans after he ignored a hip-drop tackle
Cook’s tackle on Schultz wasn’t anything new. There are several accounts of Chiefs players managing to evade penalties from the referee throughout the season. Even though rival fans continue to complain about the lackluster refereeing, the officials keep missing out on crucial moments that could potentially tip the tie against the Chiefs’ favor.
The Chiefs defensive back avoided serious penalties on that occasion, essentially providing them with a lifeline. Unfortunately for the Texans, the drive amounted to a missed field goal from Kai’mi Fairbairn.
They don’t even hide the cheating for the chiefs.

ESPN wouldn’t even show the replay. Or talk about it.

It’s not that KC gets all the calls, it’s that they get all the critical calls to help keep a drive alive or negate an opponent’s.

Especially in playoff games.
NFL isn’t gonna call anything on the chiefs

The referees and NFL have already decided this is a 3-peat There is nothing anybody can do. The Kansas City Chiefs will win the Super Bowl.

Karma struck back at Cook. A short moment after the hip drop tackle on Schultz, he had a helmet-to-helmet collision with Texans wide receiver Nico Collins on a third and two after quarterback CJ Stroud hit him with a 14-yard pass.

After visiting the medical tent, he was taken to the locker room to see a neurologist, and perhaps he will be put on the concussion protocol. The second-round pick played all 17 games this season, racking up 78 total tackles, 5 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions.
