When Stephen Curry burst onto the scene, everyone knew he would be one of the best to play the game. But no one envisioned him surpassing league legends.

His three-point shooting was electric enough that opposing teams could not get a handle on how to stop him. Along with his constant shifts and switches, defenses still struggle to slow him down to this day.

Over the past 16 years, the point guard has surpassed the likes of Reggie Miller and Ray Allen to become the league’s all-time 3-point shooting king.

He has stated his desire to continue playing into his 40s, that is, if health permits him. If he does that, his record will keep extending, and beyond the reach of many athletes. But Miller believes one rookie could challenge Curry’s record.

Dare I say this? Is Stephen Curry going to be a little nervous in about 15 years?

Reggie Miller said on The Dan Patrick Show

The Hall of Famer was talking about the Charlotte Hornets’ 4th round pick this year, Kon Knueppel. Miller pointed out that the Duke alum, who came in the shadow of 1st overall pick Cooper Flagg, could win Rookie of the Year.

On top of that, the 60-year-old believes the Milwaukee native is already performing better than Stephen Curry did during his first few years in the league.

Dan Patrick‘s co-host confirmed that the Warriors star shot just 2.1 threes per game. In comparison, Knueppel is averaging 3.7 per game. Reggie Miller reiterated that if he stays healthy, Kon Knueppel can overtake Curry’s record in 15 years or less.

Stephen Curry’s calling everybody as sneaker free agent

Even if Kon Knueppel goes after Stephen Curry‘s record, it will be a while before he can do that. Until then, basketball fans will still look up to what the Akron native has done for the sport.

Apparently, Under Armour did not find it sensible to stick with the Warriors star. Now, as a sneaker free agent, Curry was asked why he was wearing a bunch of different shoes before and during games.

Everybody should be on alert. I’m calling everybody. Trying to get some good product.

Stephen Curry replied to reporters

The 4-time champion talked about how he was honoring certain eras, games, and legends by wearing some custom signature models designed and worn by past greats.

He is currently enjoying his freedom, wearing multiple sneakers from multiple brands. After all, they are courting him for what could be the most mouth-watering sneaker contract in recent times.

Stephen Curry tried to court Sabrina Ionescu to Curry Brand

In his last game, Stephen Curry wore WNBA superstar Sabrina Ionescu‘s Sabrina 3 signature sneakers in the ‘Ione-screw’ colorway. After the game, reporters asked him if he was trying to show his respect for the Liberty star.

We have a long history. She’s from the Bay… There was a time when she was coming out of school, I was trying to get her to Curry Brand. It’s hard to get an Oregon Duck to leave Nike.

Stephen Curry replied

The 2-time league MVP mentioned that he did not know Ionescu was going to be there during their game until the day before. Once he came to know about it, he decided to wear her shoe.

This means, even though the WNBA champion is tied to a different sportswear brand, he ensured he had a pair of her latest signature model. This proves his long-standing relationship with her.

Then for him to suggest that he tried recruiting her to Curry Brand, when it was with Under Armour, says a lot about their relationship. As was revealed earlier, missing out on another major WNBA star in Caitlin Clark seemingly led to the end of his partnership with the company.
