“Ryan did the same to him,” Regis Prograis says Karma caught up to Devin Haney at the recent fight
After Devin Haney weighed in 25 pounds extra at the Regis Prograis fight, his former opponent now believes that karma caught up to him at the Ryan Garcia fight.

Ryan Garcia defied all the odds and handed Devin Haney his first professional boxing loss after an illustrious career. Even though Garcia won the fight, he is not the new WBC super-lightweight champion since he missed the weight. Furthermore, Haney won the title from Regis Prograis, as the latter recently weighed in his opinion about the fight and mentioned how Haney was a victim of Karma.
During their fight, Haney’s unfair weight advantage became a controversial aspect. Both fighters were able to make the 140-pound weight during the weigh-ins. However, during fight night, Haney weighed in an extra 25 pounds compared to Prograis. This happened because Haney cut weight and rehydrated after making the 140-pound mark. Subsequently, Prograis found it poetic that Haney lost this time due to a weight disadvantage and stated:

During the Garcia vs. Haney weigh-ins, KingRy’s weight was 143.2 pounds and had to pay $500k per pound because of a bet. However, Garcia did not care about this and mentioned how it was an advantage for him.
Prograis remarked that he did not expect the fight to go in this direction. Furthermore, he stated that Haney was completely beat down.
Devin Haney wants a rematch
Haney had predicted that the fight would be easy for him because Ryan Garcia had not improved since his amateur boxing days. However, the fight went nowhere like Haney had expected. As such, he was knocked down three times for the first time in his professional career.
However, despite suffering his first career loss, Haney’s enthusiasm for boxing has not diminished. The two-weight champion expressed how he was caught off guard and ended up losing. Furthermore, he expressed a desire for a rematch.
At the post-fight interview, Devin Haney remarked that the fight was a close one, even after being convincingly defeated. Garcia also entertained the prospect of a rematch and announced that he would like to ‘run it back’.
