Fabio Quartararo has collected 8 wins so far over the 2021 season and the first half of the 2022 season. The Yamaha rider is struggling with the bike and also making crucial mistakes which are putting the riders chances of defending his championship this season. Currently he is leading the World Championship standings table but not by much as Aleix Espargaro is on a charge this season with second place on the table and closing in on the reigning World Champion.
“In Jerez I was ready to leave Yamaha” : Fabio Quartararo
The Monster Energy Yamaha rider talked about how he felt absurd even thinking about leaving the team after winning his maiden world championship title in the premier class of MotoGP.
‘Before starting the season my goal was to stay at Yamaha. It seemed absurd to think about leaving after winning the title with them. But above all my first objective was to integrate the most competitive project’, Fabio said while also stating that he even had the thought of leaving the team.
“In Jerez I was ready to leave Yamaha but then they put a project on the table that I liked. They’ve hired engineers who are working hard on the engine for next year and I’m very comfortable in the M1.” he continued.
Nevertheless it’s been an exciting season so far for Fabio Quartararo who will be hungry to perform in the coming GP at Silverstone where he will also be serving a long lap penalty that he received due to his collision with Aleix Espargaro during the Dutch GP.
