LSU's Flau'jae Johnson was upset with South Carolina's DJ after their game

LSU star Flau’jae Johnson has elevated herself as one of the best players in college basketball this season. As a budding star rapper, she takes both her convocations seriously, especially when she went up against powerhouse South Carolina.

LSU were undefeated until meeting the reigning NCAA Champions in their homecourt. That meant Johnson and her teammates had to be at their very best. The game seemed to be neck-and-neck until the third quarter when the home team surged ahead. At the end, they won 66-56 to hand LSU their first loss of the season.

For Flau’jae Johnson, the loss was something of a wakeup call for her and her teammates. If they are to battle for the NCAA Championship, they will have to take their already brilliant game up a notch. However, the loss was not the only thing that left her shocked.

A fan shared on social media that the DJ at Colonial Life Arena playing the song Cut Friends was in poor taste. But to this allegation, the DJ going by the name T.O. replied saying ‘my bad’ along with laughing emoticons. This ticked off the 21-year-old LSU star and rapper who took to X to write this.

I’ll take my L on the chin, but this just nasty behavior. Nun funny bout that.

The song Cut Friends was recorded by rapper Camouflage who happens to be Johnson’s late father. A gunman shot Camouflage or Jason Johnson in Georgia six months before she was born. Authorities are yet to identify the gunman and the case remains unsolved.

South Carolina suspends DJ after hurting Flau’jae Johnson’s family

Flau’jae Johnson‘s tweet went viral, and it came to the attention of South Carolina University. Knowing their SEC rivals were going to talk about it in public, they swiftly issued a statement on their X account condemning the actions of their DJ.

We are addressing Friday night’s inappropriate in-game song selection and subsequent Instagram post by the DJ who is hired to work our women’s basketball games. We regret that it came to that in our venue after a game that saw both teams capture the level of national attention that women’s basketball has earned, and we apologize to Flau’Jae, her family and LSU.

They added that they were suspending DJ T.O. for their next home game against the Auburn on February 2nd. The situation might appease the rapper cum basketball star as she wants to avoid discussions surrounding her family’s history.

With nine games left in the regular season, Flau’jae Johnson and her LSU Tigers are set to reach NCAA’s March Madness. Last season, Caitlin Clark and Iowa stopped their charge in an epic rematch. This season, they will be looking to go deeper and fight for another NCAA Championship.
