The 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship was special for Richard Childress Racing’s Jesse Love. He produced a consistent season and peaked when it mattered the most to win the championship defeating Conor Zilisch who won 10 races this year. Recently he made some bold comments regarding the major challenges the sport is facing at the moment.

On his appearance on the Door Bumper Clear podcast, the RCR driver shared his feelings about the state of the sport, that he will be one of the leading faces of in the future, and it’s passionate fanbase. Jesse Love believes that every sport has a group of people that are always against the sport and in NASCAR they are significant in number.

I think that every sport has people with their gripes. Right now, I hate to see the state that it’s in because it seems like everybody’s wanting to be against it.

The young racer pointed out that one of the biggest problems with NASCAR at the moment it has become a trend to hate the sport and criticize it, though its still have some of the best motorsport’s events in the world. Most of the criticism are over the playoffs format and everyone is hoping that the fans will back supporting the sports once the format is amended from 2026.

I’ll probably get flak for saying it, but I do think that’s our biggest problem is that it’s become so not trendy, but popular to be against, NASCAR and be against everything that has to do with it. I think that’s the biggest problem. I think what we have right now is actually really great.

In the same conversation, the youngster also took a shot at F1 and how perception as well as trend among the race fans makes them overlook short comings. He pointed out how the open wheel racing fans loves the Australian GP, despite it being one of the worst races of the 2025, motorsports Calander. It shows how perception changes the feelings about races and he wants the NASCAR community to identify it.

I just got back from Australia, where all the people really enjoyed what they were doing where they were at. I watched the F1 race, which was probably the worst racing I watched all year as far as a product goes, and people seemed to love that. I’m team pro sport, right? I want the sport to be in a really good place.

In a recent conversation Jesse Love revealed the best driver he has ever seen and hilariously it’s not a racer. He revealed that according to him, it is a New York taxi driver. It is because this person took Love and his girlfriend to an event five minutes earlier, despite them starting the journey really late.

When I leave the No. 2 car and go to the Cup Series, I think he probably needs to drive my car. He was probably the best driver I’ve ever seen in my life. He got us there five minutes before our reservation. And I don’t think we hit anybody, but we might have. And he was probably the best driver I’ve ever seen in my life.
