Reinier de Ridder snatches the ONE Championship light heavyweight belt to become a two-division champion

Reinier de Ridder has done the impossible by winning the ONE Championship light heavyweight title on 28th April becoming a two-division champion. And it seems like the Dutchman will be going for all the belts there are.

Reinier de Ridder yesterday beat Aung La N Sang at the main event of ONE on TNT 4 by a lopsided unanimous decision. The fighter from Netherlands took up the fight on just five days’ notice which makes it even more special to the new champion. This is the second time Reinier de Ridder has met Aung in the octagon and he has managed to win both the bouts.

Reinier was already the ONE championship middleweight champion coming into the fight in the light heavyweight division. He won the middleweight belt against Aung La N Sang last October. Aung has had a devastating record against de Ridder having lost both the belts to the Dutchman.

Reinier de Ridder doesn’t seem to be satisfied with being just a two-division champion. The champion of middleweight and light heavyweight called out Brandon Vera who is the current ONE Championship Heavyweight champion. The Dutchman wants to fight Vera this summer.

From yesterday, Reinier has made it clear that he can takedown any man in the world. His ambition to become the Heavyweight champion too might sound a tad bit outlandish but de Ridder packing some muscle sounds really dangerous when it comes to grappling.
