On December 14, when the Jewish community was celebrating the Hanukkah festival in Sydney’s Bondi Beach, two gunmen fired shots at them, killing 16 people. Those who were killed also included a 10-year-old child, and about 40 people were injured.

The accused were a father-son duo. Sajid Akram, the 50-year-old father, was shot dead by the police, while his son, 24-year-old Naveed Akram, was wounded and taken into custody. The police have declared this a terrorist attack, while Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has vowed to make the already strict gun laws in the country stricter.

Amidst the chaos in the country, one user on Threads claimed that the Australian people were not able to defend themselves because of strict gun laws. When Serena Williams‘ former coach, Rennae Stubbs, came across this, her anger knew no bounds. She said she is convinced that had the mass shooting occurred in the United States, the death toll would have been worse because of America’s gun laws.

Shut up you f****n prick! If this was in America it would have been a semi automatic that would have killed 100! Piss off with your stupid comments about a great country.

WTA World No.4 Amanda Anisimova shared her condolences with the families in the wake of the incident. Nick Kyrgios agreed to a now viral post that slammed the Australian government. The post claimed Australia deported Novak Djokovic due to the vaccine saga in 2022, but did not deport the gunmen. US President Donald Trump‘s son, Donald Trump Jr., also agreed to the post.

Australia is the next destination for the tennis players as the tennis season kicks off in the country. The main draw of the first Major of the season, the Australian Open, is scheduled to start on January 18.

Men’s World No.1 Jannik Sinner will be bidding to complete a three-peat. Djokovic will continue his hunt for his historic 25th Grand Slam title, while Carlos Alcaraz will be aiming to complete the Career Grand Slam.

Women’s World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka will be bidding for her third title, while Madison Keys will enter Melbourne as the defending champion. Six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek will also be aiming to complete the Career Grand Slam.

Nick Kyrgios hits back at Rennae Stubbs for her comment on the Battle of the Sexes

Nick Kyrgios will lock horns with Aryna Sabalenka on December 28 in Dubai during the Battle of the Sexes. The exhibition match drew a great deal of criticism, especially from the former players, including Billie Jean King.

Rennae Stubbs is also of the same opinion, as she asked how the match would benefit women’s tennis. Kyrgios, who recently sat for an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, hit back at the former doubles No.1.

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve really ever taken anything Rennae Stubbs has said about me personally or with any care, to be honest. I think it shows unity. It really does show unity. I think people don’t know that me and Aryna get along extremely well. We are having fun in doing this together. This is something that not many tennis players have ever experienced.

Kyrgios has already played a match against Sabalenka. In the Gardens Cup exhibition event, the pair of Sabalenka and Kyrgios beat Kyrgios and Naomi Osaka.

Kyrgios played just five events this season, with his last one being the Citi Open, where he paired up with Gael Monfils, but their match ended after the first round. Sabalenka finished the season with four titles from nine finals.
