What exactly happened with Anthony Ammirati?
French Pole Vaulter Anthony Ammirati became a victim of a mishap that he would have not anticipated. Ammirati was doing all fine before his third jump in the qualifying track for the final. While he easily cleared 5.4 meters and 5.6 meters in his first two attempts, Ammirati knocked down the pole as he tried to jump over 5.7 meters.
The Frenchman had gotten it all sorted until his crotch came in the way of the pole, knocking it down. Ammirati could not clear the third attempt and resultantly, failed his qualifying track for the final. He wore a disappointed look after the mishap.
The netizens, meanwhile, made fun of the French athlete. “When you’re about to win an Olympic medal but your massive d*ck gets in the way while the whole world watches in slow motion,” read one of the many posts mocking Ammirati.
Notably, the young athlete has not put out a word yet about the mishap. But it was evident from his face that Ammirati was dejected that all his hard work put in over months leading to the event was wasted. Hopefully, he comes back stronger and bigger the next time.
