Rennae Stubbs explained what she thinks she would do if Emma Raducanu includes her in the coaching team. Raducanu, who recently parted ways with childhood coach Nick Cavaday is searching for her seventh coach.

But Raducanu had said that she would not be hasty in finding the next coach. If she offers the coaching responsibilities to Stubbs, a former Grand Slam doubles champion, would not turn down the opportunity.

I would consider it, of course. I would never say no to an opportunity to work with a Grand Slam champion. What would I work on?

Rennae Stubbs said on The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast

Raducanu is 2/3 in the season and is still searching for her second WTA title since her fairy tale run at the 2021 US Open. Stubbs explained what’s the first thing she would do after joining the Brit’s team.

The first thing I would do is sit her down and ask her what she wants. I think that’s the key. You have to know what your player wants. I think they all come in and think I am going to tweak this or that. I would sit her down and say let’s be honest here, what do you want? How do you want to approach this?

Rennae Stubbs added

Before her collaboration with Cavaday, Raducanu had worked with Nigel Sears, Andrew Richardson, Torben Beltz, Dmitry Tursunov, and Sebastian Sachs. Cavaday quit her team because he wanted to prioritize his health.

Gigi Salmon urges Emma Raducanu to ignore critics

Nothing seems to be working for Emma Raducanu at the moment it seems. After withdrawing from the ASB Classic due to a niggle, she made it to the third round of the Australian Open for the first time. But to her disappointment, she was pitted against five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek and crashed out of the Melbourne Slam with scores of 6-1, 6-0.

Following the season’s first Major, Raducanu succumbed to defeat in the first round of three back-to-back tournaments, the Singapore Tennis Open, the Abu Dhabi Open, and the Qatar Open. Amid her poor run or forms, critics are going all out to censure her but Sky Sports presenter Gigi Salmon urged her to pay no heed to the negative comments.

There are people and sections of the media that like to build people up and knock them down and I think she has to ignore that.

Gigi Salmon told Tennis365

The season’s first WTA 1000 event in Doha is currently underway and after its conclusion, the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai will kick start. Raducanu will be hoping to get a wild card to play the event.
