Rafael Nadal, the former world number one and undoubtedly one of the greatest athletes of all time, has been phenomenal with his performances this year at the Grand Slam events where he has a 20-0 winning streak. This includes his win at the 2022 Australian Open followed by his win at the 2022 French Open and continuing his great form at the Wimbledon Championship until his semifinal match where he had to withdraw himself due to his abdominal injury.
Nadal has played only one ATP event after his comeback from injury but he couldn’t manage enough court practice time since he got eliminated to the eventual winner Borna Coric in the first round at the Cincinnati Open. He did not wish to worsen his injury and chose to extend his recovery time as per his doctor’s advice and therefore missed playing at the Montreal Open. He will be up against face Fabio Fognini in the second-round clash at the 2022 US Open after registering a good win in the first round and will be looking to extend his winning ways with the hope of eventually winning another title this year.

Rafael Nadal has found himself in the headlines again but this time it is not for his game, but for his relationship status over the years. The latest buzz that has been in the headlines is regarding the secret relationship of Nadal with the famous pop-star singer Shakira during the year 2010. As per the reports by an Italian newspaper agency, it is claimed they Nadal got involved in an intense love affair with the singer during the video shoot of the song ‘Gitana‘ where Nadal plays the protagonist.
Spanish journalist, Jordi Martin during an interview revealed this love affair between the Colombian singer Shakira and Rafael Nadal. He said, “She got involved with someone equally or more famous.” The host of the show begged the man to reveal the name but he did not provide it. Instead, he gave out a hint indicating that “He is a world-renowned person and a top sportsman. He’s not a footballer, he’s a tennis player.” On further assistance, upon being asked if he is the one with the most number of single titles, Martin replied a “Yes“.
In the video, Nadal and Shakira exchanged some intimate scenes which resulted in their secret affair. During that time, Shakira hadn’t met the Spanish football star, Gerard Pique, with whom she got married in 2011, and is on the verge of a divorce and fighting a legal custody battle for their kids. Rather, it was reported that Shakira was dating popular Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz. While on the other hand, Nadal was in an embarrassing situation because he was already dating his childhood love interest Maria Perello, whom he met in 2005 at school.
