Report: Bruce Arians and the Buccaneers have NO IDEA about Tom Brady retiring. His agent says “He hasn’t made up his mind.”
While all of Twitter is breaking down over Tom Brady retiring, local news media in Tampa Bay is reporting that head coach Bruce Arians has not been told of Brady’s retirement from the star quarterback.
This comes as quite a shock because, to the rest of the world, it’s all but confirmed that Tom Brady is hanging up his cleats. Of course, this has massive repercussions on the Buccaneers franchise as they would need to find a starting quarterback for the 2022 NFL season.

Bruce Arians is unaware of Tom Brady retiring
Per Rick Stroud of the ‘Tampa Bay Times’, Tom Brady has not informed the Bucs of his plan to retire. Bruce Arians told him “No, he hasn’t that we know of. His agent told us he hasn’t made up his mind.”
Adam Schefter reported a statement from Brady’s agent Don Yee saying “I understand the advance speculation about Tom’s future. Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what’s being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy. He knows the realities of the football business and planning calendar as well as anybody, so that should be soon.”
Now everyone can only speculate. Is the GOAT actually retiring and his plans have only been revealed earlier than he would’ve liked? Or have the sport’s analysts got this one wrong and fooled all of Twitter into believing that Tom Brady is calling it quits on his NFL career.
As of now, all we can do is wait and see what Tom Brady himself has to say about this situation, whether or not it’s true or if he simply wishes to postpone his retirement announcement. Whichever way it goes down, one thing is for certain. This is the most unnecessary and nonsensical way for the game’s greatest athlete to have to call it a career. For now, only time will tell if it truly is the end for him, which if it isn’t, will really break the internet.
