A new report has revealed details about WWE’s PLE schedule after WrestleMania. In recent years, WWE has prioritized international PLEs between The Show of Shows and SummerSlam, usually including one event in Saudi Arabia. While the pattern remains the same, the company has made a significant change by replacing one major event this year.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is bringing back Night of Champions on June 28 in Saudi Arabia, replacing King & Queen of the Ring. This marks WWE’s first Saudi PLE of the year. Interestingly, the company scrapped an event that had real implications for SummerSlam and WWE’s future, leaving many fans questioning the decision.
Moreover, WWE will bring back Evolution for the first time since 2018, with the show set to take place on July 5, just a week after Night of Champions. Having an all-women’s PLE just days after NOC makes it a potential only-men event for Saudi Arabia. Besides, there were reports that WWE is considering the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut as the potential venue for the event.

Evolution 2 will take place a week afterwards on July 5th, which is set to be announced this Monday.

As of now, WWE has yet to officially announce either event. However, reports suggest an official confirmation could come in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania. So far, WWE has only revealed a few PLEs for the year, with more international events expected. The company’s approach to executing these two major shows remains uncertain.
WWE Universe reacts to WWE dropping King & Queen of The Ring this year
The WWE Universe isn’t happy with how WWE is handling its PLE calendar. Fans looked forward to King and Queen of the Ring, but many are frustrated that WWE is replacing it with Night of Champions. Some argue that at least K&QOTR had stakes leading into SummerSlam, while now, it feels like WWE is swapping it out for a less significant event.

Moreover, some fans even pitched that they believe Night of Champions is going to be a men-only Premium Live Event. From the wide spectrum of views, here are the top reactions of the fans on :

No k&qotr is a bad decision

Oh wow. I wonder if they'll have a PPV replace Crown Jewel.

That’s a bit shocking given how much they put into king of the ring being like the royal rumble for summerslam last year
— Connah (@CMDRecruit) April 3, 2025
I was looking forward to a Saudi-free summer. LOL

The change shocked some fans, while others saw it as a step toward phasing out Saudi Arabian events. However, the overall sentiment was that WWE made a bad call by altering the PLE calendar. Fans fully supported the return of Evolution but were furious about WWE dropping King and Queen of the Ring, openly criticizing the decision.
