- Steve Tisch's claims of a 'brief association' with Jeffrey Epstein are contradicted by new reports detailing direct contact.
- Investigative findings reveal Tisch sought women from Epstein, despite knowing Epstein's criminal background.
- The Giants organization faces backlash as Tisch's connections to Epstein become a focal point in media coverage.
Try as they might, the New York Giants and co-owner Steve Tisch can’t seem to shake off the links to the Epstein files following a new and worrisome report. Tisch had previously denied ever having direct contact with notorious pedophile and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, but the new report completely contradicts that claim.
In January 2026, an investigative report by The Athletic uncovered Tisch’s name in the newly released chapters of the files. It documented that Tisch reached out to Epstein and tried to procure women to keep him company.
Naturally, the 76-year-old came under heavy fire from virtually every major outlet. Amidst the backlash, Tisch released a statement, dismissing the report.
We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments. I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with.

The confession did little to quell the anti-Tisch sentiment that had built up on social media. The revelation came around the same time the Giants appointed John Harbaugh as head coach. Harbaugh filled the post left vacant by Brian Daboll, who was fired after a rough start to the 2025 season. Daboll joined former Jets HC and 49ers DC Robert Saleh‘s staff in Tennessee as offensive coordinator.
Giants owner Steve Tisch met with Epstein despite being a registered sex offender
Tisch is not out of the woods. In fact, a new report from The Athletic, echoed by the Wall Street Journal, revealed confirmed dealings between Tisch and Epstein.

The two had breakfast on a few occasions, even after Epstein had been sued several times by his victims, served 13 months of work-release, and was already a registered Level 3 sex offender. Three weeks after breakfast, Tisch reportedly began “exchanging emails about women in ribald terms.”
Pulling from his catalog of candidates, Epstein provided Tisch options: an aspiring actress with a ’10 a**,’ a microbiology major at a university, an ‘exotic’ Tahitian woman, who Epstein reassured Tisch was not a ‘working girl.’
The report read
Tisch reportedly hesitated at first. He asked Epstein for an untraceable backup phone number.
[Tisch] wrote: ‘Send me a number to call—I don’t like records of these conversations.’ But the two men continued emailing extensively. ‘I am happy to have you as a new but obviously shared-interest friend,’ Epstein wrote Tisch.
From @TheAthletic: Emails between Jeffrey Epstein and New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch stand out for how singularly they focused on Epstein’s ability to connect Tisch with young women. The report alleged that Epstein set up Tisch with four (name redacted) women. However, none of them were underage, but the actual ages of the women remain unknown.
It’s not a great look for the Giants organization, which would hope the story blows over time. However, these are such stories that the general population tends to remember the longest.
Another name with ties to the Giants popped up on the files right after Tisch’s first rodeo. It’s the Giants’ veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, who attempted to purchase an aircraft owned by Epstein. Wilson immediately shut the report down. The Super Bowl winner clarified that someone tried to sell him a used plane, but the transaction never took place.
