The Phoenix Suns have been quite bold in this NBA trade market. From several teams, the Suns have also been quite heavily active this offseason. They had to make big calls in a bid to challenge for the NBA 2026 title in the coming year. Firstly, they traded their starman and veteran Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks.

Later, they got rid of Bradley Beal as they bought out his contract, as they look to build their roster around Devin Booker. Now, the Suns have a huge dilemma regarding their ball-handling sector. This is because the player that they acquired in a trade deal, Jalen Green, is also one of the best ball-handlers alongside Booker.

Now, an NBA and Suns insider, John Gambadoro, has made an interesting revelation regarding this matter. Per Gambadoro, the Suns are likely planning to make Green their primary ball handler over Booker. This comes as an interesting decision. Many Suns fans are excited to watch how this will be implemented on the court this upcoming season.

Notably, the Suns’ newest recruit, Green, reached out to Booker ahead of his move to the Suns. He also claimed that the Suns’ superstar is excited to link up with Green and is ready to go for the new season. Both stars will be hoping for a playoff finish after a mediocre 2024-25 NBA season despite possessing the likes of Durant and Beal.

Coming into this offseason, the franchise knew that there is a need for a big change, and did not waste any time in making their moves during the trade market, which they did. Now, with Brooks and Green added to the roster, it will surely be interesting to watch how the Suns perform in the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season.

Jalen Green made an interesting revelation regarding Devin Booker

By the way, Jalen Green was playing at the Rockets last year, the fans fell in admiration and awe of his gameplay. Many thought that Green would be a mainstay in Houston. But the Suns had other plans. As mentioned above, Green was traded to the Suns in exchange for Kevin Durant. Notably, the newest Suns player made an interesting revelation regarding his move and Suns superstar Devin Booker.

Listen, nobody likes to get traded. But I can honestly say that I get it, bro. This is a business, and if I was up there in the executive chair, I probably would’ve made the deal, too… He called me when I was out in Phoenix trying to look for a house and stuff. From what I’ve read so far, just off his vibe and everything, he’s excited.

Since both Green and Booker are score-first guards, the former Rocket will probably need to improve his playmaking and off-ball efficiency to maximize that partnership. It appears that Green is entering his new team in the summer with the proper attitude. Now, with Green reportedly being made the primary ball-handler, he can cause tandem along with Booker on the court.

Jalen Green had kind words for his new team, the Phoenix Suns

Jalen Green had a mediocre season with the Houston Rockets last year. He did not perform as per his standards, but despite that, the Rockets finished #3rd seed. Given that, the Rockets decided to move on from Green, sending him to the Suns. However, Green was not disappointed and agreed to the move. He also opened up about his new team in the latest piece provided by the Players’ Tribune.

I got a team out in Phoenix who wants me to be me,” he wrote. “I get to play alongside one of the best in the game in Book. It’s another opportunity to build a winning culture. Another opportunity to show people how deep my love for this game really is. And another opportunity to shut up y’all petty-a** haters, too. (I see everything, and I thank you for it.)

He did not set a personal record last season, averaging 21.0 points and 3.4 assists per game for the second-best team in the Western Conference (his sophomore season in 2022-23 was a few ticks better). Now, Green looks more determined than ever, looking to make a turnaround on his past season’s numbers and performances.
