This NBA trade market has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, from veterans being traded to surprise last-minute deals unfolding. Fans could not have thought of such deals getting done in the first place. For example, Kevin Durant being traded to the Houston Rockets, Chris Paul coming back to the Los Angeles Clippers, Jrue Holiday moving from the Boston Celtics, and much more.
Interestingly, this market seems to gather pace with each passing day, with the Sacramento Kings’ star DeMar DeRozan and the Golden State Warriors’ star Jonathan Kuminga in the mix. According to an NBA analyst, Allen Stiles, both are involved in a move away from their respective teams in this trade market. The analyst provided an interesting revelation regarding DeRozan and the Kings on this matter with the Warriors star.
I believe, this is specifically me, that there is a handshake agreement between DeMar DeRozan and the Sacramento Kings. That is my belief. If Jonathan Kuminga is acquired by the Sacramento Kings, they will get their butts in gear as far as getting DeMar DeRozan to another team.

Stiles discussed the Kings on his show. In his opinion, the Kings and DeMar DeRozan have a handshake agreement. The Kings will take on some expiring agreements and second-round selections in exchange for DeRozan, possibly to a contender, should they acquire Jonathan Kuminga. For quite some time, DeRozan has displayed his frustrations playing for the Kings.
Should the Kings sign Kuminga, which won’t be an easy deal to pull off, DeRozan will surely move from Sacramento. First off, the Kings won’t need DeRozan, who checks many of the same boxes, if they sign Kuminga, a score-first cutting forward.
Furthermore, DeRozan has demonstrated that he is still capable of playing at a high level at the age of 35. He might not make the All-Star squad, but he might be a valuable scorer for a team in the running.
Jonathan Kuminga has yet to accept the Warriors’ contract offer
This year, especially the NBA Free Agency has sprung a surprise. Mostly because many of the young players are yet to sign the contract extensions with their respective teams. Some of them are Cam Thomas, Josh Giddy, and the Warriors’ star Jonathan Kuminga. Notably, the trio wants more money to sign their next contract.
However, for the Warriors star, his case is a bit different. Despite wanting more money, he does not want to return to the Warriors, as per NBA insider Brett Siegel. In addition, Kuminga wants $30million to sign an extension where whereas the Warriors are offering only $20 million, which does not sit well with Kuminga’s camp.
Kuminga’s camp want a big deal in the $30M+ range and don’t want to be back with Warriors.

Golden State wants a small deal in $20M range where they can flip him because there’s no market.

This has stalled the negotiations with Kuminga, also looking at his options in this trade market. That said, Kuminga is a young athlete with promise who could contribute to any team’s future. He produced 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 0.8 steals per game during the previous campaign. So any team looking to acquire him will receive an all-around talent on their roster.
DeMar DeRozan made an admission about the modern NBA game
In the past, the NBA was a completely different ball game. Physicality, tactics, being dominant under the rim, shoving each other, and whatnot. Given that, the game has totally changed. The modern NBA game is based around one shot, the three-pointer. And none other than the Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has been the sole proprietor to lead this and provide a new pathway to the sport.
Curry is undoubtedly the best three-point shooter the game has ever witnessed. Now, former NBA player DeMar DeRozan touched on this topic. Mostly because DeRozan feels that the young kids are being influenced and forced to play the game like how Curry does.
This does not sit well with the NBA player, who made his opinions clear recently.
It’s tough. I remember when young guys were coming up the field discouraged because they had to go out there and be Stephen Curry all the time. Everybody just isn’t going to be Stephen Curry. There’s one Stephen Curry. What he is able to do is incredible. I think we will never see anybody else like that.
DeMar DeRozan said

Curry is in a different class of his own. Not everybody has to be like him, something that DeRozan stressed while he made his point regarding this matter. Anyways, the young kids still would turn to Curry as an inspiration because of the impact he had on the sport.
