“Respect for Belal for stepping up when no one else would,” Belal Muhammad booked to face Leon Edwards
The number three ranked Welterweight fighter Leon Edwards finally find an opponent for himself after waiting for almost one and half year.
After the fight with Khamzat Chimaev has been shelved for the third time, Edwards called out Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal to face him but none of them found this fight offer tempting enough.
Colby Covington said that he doesn’t want to do the charity and face only Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal is also eying for a rematch with Usman. This leaves Leon Edwards without an opponent to make his comeback.
Belal Muhammad is ranked number 13th in the Welterweight rankings and he is on a four-fight win streak. He stepped inside the Octagon just one week ago in a fight against Dhiego Lima and according to sources, he is ready to face Leon Edwards.
This is going to be a huge opportunity for Belal Muhammad as a win against Leon Edwards will catapult him much ahead in the rankings and if Edwards pulls a victory in this fight he is sure in line for the title shot.
