Ric Flair recently announced some personal news on his social media account. The 16x World Champion took to X to reveal that he was parting ways with his current wife, Wendy Barlow. She was the 75-year-old’s fifth since 1971. The couple began their relationship in 2011 but never got legally married, possibly because Flair had already been divorced four times in the past.

The couple did hold a commitment ceremony in Florida in 2018. Since then, he has generally referred to her as his wife. In January 2022, the couple separated due to issues in their relationship and eventually decided to call it quits. From the language used in Flair’s X message, there seems to be no bad blood between the two.

The wrestling legend has had a pretty rough year. His partnership with AEW for his energy drink garnered controversy, and The Nature Boy released a heated statement regarding the matter. Furthermore, he was ejected from a pizza establishment after arguing with the waiting staff while drunk.

Another professional wrestler recently divorced their partner a few weeks ago. Nikki Bella and dancer Artem Chigvintsev ended their two-year marriage after domestic abuse allegations came to light against the Russian.

Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantel challenges Ric Flair to a retirement match

Ric Flair had a near-perfect retirement from professional wrestling at WrestleMania XXIV against Shawn Michaels. However, the wrestler may have ruined his legacy after stepping back into the ring in TNA and refusing to step away from the business despite his age.

Speaking on Smack Talk, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantel said that he wanted to challenge the 1992 Royal Rumble winner to a farewell match. He even proposed an interesting stipulation for the bout and called it a ‘First Man Standing match.’ He said that they should place two chairs inside the ring with both wrestling veterans sitting on them. The first man to get up on his feet would win the match.

Just get Ric a case of beer so he can sit there and knock that down. Both of us will see if we can get up, move around and just get out of the ring. So, that’s my challenge to Ric Flair.

Dutch Mantel wrestled for various territories from 1972 to 1990. He had a year-long stint in WCW in 1991 and another short run in WWF in 1995. He wrestled his final match in 2013 and hung up his boots to take up the roles of a manager and a writer.
