Ric Flair has one of the most infamous records in WWE history. It has stood the test of time for more than three decades. He has 16 officially recognized world championship victories in WWE, something that no one has been able to surpass to date. The wrestling legend wants his daughter, Charlotte Flair, to break his record, and he recently revealed her reaction to this statement.

Speaking on the Busted Open Radio, The Nature Boy revealed that in a perfect world, his daughter would be the one breaking his record. He claimed that this would be the biggest thing that could ever happen. Flair once told his daughter that if she broke his record, she would be as famous as Serena Williams in the world of women’s sports.

Charlotte Flair seemingly got upset by this statement, as she wasn’t too fond of the comparison. Regardless, the WCW icon thought that she was as good as any athlete alive on the planet today. She is already a 14-time Women’s Champion on the main roster and is bound to break the record one day.

I told her one time, and she got upset — not upset but she didn’t like the comparison, I said, ‘You’d be as famous as Serena Williams if you broke that record that’s been there for so long.’ She didn’t like the comparison, but she’s as good an athlete as there is alive today.

There are a lot of caveats regarding Ric Flair and his championship record. Most of his title reigns did not come in WWE. Rather, they took place in WCW or ECWWE, companies that the Stamford-based promotion eventually bought. A lot of his championship reigns also came in NWA. Although the company never bought the NWA, these reigns were still recognized by WCW, a company that WWE later bought out.

Ric Flair talks about the possibility of John Cena breaking his 16-time World Championship record

John Cena announced his retirement at the recent Money in the Bank PLE. Since then, there have been many talks about the Hollywood superstar breaking the infamous record during his final year in WWE. He has already accumulated 16 World Championships, all in WWE itself. This is something that even Ric Flair has not done.

During the same conversation, Flair also gave his thoughts on Cena breaking his record. He thought highly of the Cenation leader. He claimed that the 47-year-old was a great guy, and he had only known a few of them in his life.

Although the Four Horsemen member was biased toward his daughter, he said that he has no problem with John Cena breaking the record. In fact, he mentioned that he would be the first one to hit the ring and shake his hand as soon as it happened.
