In some horrible news this Sunday afternoon, Ric Flair‘s stepson, Sebastian Kidder, was declared dead by his mother, Wendy Barlow. Kidder, who was 24 and a budding musician, committed suic*de on Saturday at his place in Georgia. A gunshot wound helped deduce that Sebastian had indeed taken his life, Barlow told TMZ Sports.

For the unversed, Ric parted ways with Kidder’s mom last month. The couple got married in 2018. It was Flair’s fifth divorce since Leslie Goodman in 1983. Nonetheless, the son that Ric and Barlow shared as parents is no more. As of writing, TMZ couldn’t confirm what led to this tragedy. The police investigation is ongoing. The reasoning that Ric gave for separating from Wendy was all but simple.

The two weren’t being able to juggle between the respective projects they were on. It was becoming difficult for both of them to spend time together due to their hectic outside endeavors. Thus, the duo decided to end their relationship on a healthy note. Ric Flair said he would forever be grateful to Wendy Barlow for driving him out of a severe health crisis in 2017.

Earlier this month, The Nature Boy found himself in hot waters. He had to delete a post where the 75-year-old hurled some infuriating remarks while millions of people were affected by Hurricane Milton. Flair, who’s a sumptuous and well-off public figure, claimed that he could only donate $1000 to charity.

What was even more pitiful was Flair’s audacity to flex that he was enjoying life in Las Vegas, reaping the benefits of the personality he carries. The WWE Hall of Famer took down that frivolous post from X after receiving a ton of flak online.

Will Ric Flair’s acclaimed WWE record never be broken?

Pro wrestling is in 2024, but Ric Flair’s 16 world title reigns record is still intact. John Cena is currently tied with him on that front, and it has been the case since 2017. With Cena already set for retirement at the end of next year, it begs whether he’d be the one to pip Flair.

Or someone like Randy Orton, who’s a 14-time World Champion would surpass Ric down the road. According to WWE HOF’er Bully Ray, he doesn’t see it happening. Speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, the tag team great affirmed that Flair’s all-time record would’ve been in jeopardy had Vince McMahon been still in charge of WWE creative.

Hunter [Triple H] has an immense amount of respect for Ric Flair; Cena does, Orton does. I’m just wondering if the humanity of this comes into play where we don’t want to beat Ric Flair’s record.

But since he’s replaced by Triple H, who immensely respects his former Evolution stablemate, the equation is different. Ray said that Hunter might just never let anyone capture the world title for a 17th time.
