Bronny James finds support in agent Rich Paul

Bronny James has super agent Rich Paul to thank for the role he played in guiding him toward an NBA career. Despite the weight of expectations surrounding his last name, Paul believes Bronny is well-equipped to handle it.

Rich Paul expressed this confidence when he spoke to ESPN’s Baxter Holmes on Bronny’s decision to jump straight from a turbulent college career into the NBA. He asserted that with Bronny James there’re no regrets whatsoever about bypassing the additional time in college.

Nobody pressured Bronny to go pro–Bronny had a choice to stay at USC. He had a choice to transfer somewhere else or he had a choice to go pro… Bronny is serious. This isn’t a f***ing game for him. He wants to play in the NBA, and he wants to play well within his role.”

Rich Paul said

The NBA preseason saw father and son recently share an emotional moment when they played their first preseason game together. Although Bronny’s development is still unfolding, the Lakers are eager to get him on the court with his father early on.

Further thanks to Rich Paul, Bronny was rewarded with a four-year rookie deal in hand. And with that, he is focused on maximizing his potential, with the support of his family and the Lakers organization.

Eastern Conference executive and scout not rooting for Bronny James

Not everyone has faith in Bronny James as Rich Paul and as the new season approaches there are lots of questions about whether he can find success in the NBA. Recent reports suggest that some league executives and scouts have expressed doubts about whether he may be on a path toward success.

The expectations for Bronny by the fan base and by LeBron and Rich Paul are not commensurate with the reality of his game. If they had any real idea of how far away Bronny is, they just would not have done this.

An unnamed Eastern Conference executive said as per ESPN

The pressure is due to the fact that his legendary father LeBron James is a once-in-a-generation talent, who made a seamless transition to the NBA straight out of high school. Not an easy feat, and sadly his performance thus far hasn’t matched that of a top-tier NBA prospect.

You’re set up for failure. It’s like, what’s the expectation here?

An unnamed scout added

Furthermore, Bronny’s early NBA outings have been underwhelming, with limited scoring and inconsistency. Maybe it’s time they considered following Magic Johnson’s advice.
