Former USA President Donald Trump was the chief guest at the Coca-Cola  600, hosted by the Charlotte Motor Speedway. He was there at the track from the start of the race, accompanied by Hall of Fame team owner of Chevy team RCR, Richard Childress and was at the pit-box of the team during the race as well.

Seven times NASCAR Cup Series Champion and the co-owner of Legacy Motor Club, Richard Petty was another star presence in the garage. So, it was inevitable the two meets during the race. Petty was seen meeting Donald Trump at the VIP stands of the Charlotte Motor Speedway. They embraced and had a wholesome conversation during the meet-up.

The King, was quick to share images from their unexpected meeting during the Coca-Cola 600. He shared two images on X, one where he is seen embracing the ex-president. In the second image he is seen alongside RCR owner Richard Childress, who has been accompanying Trump throughout the race.

Richard Petty has close alliances with the Republican party of Donald Trump

The NASCAR Hall of Famer is no stranger to politics and he has been an influence figure in politics many times in the past. He has been closely associated with the Republican party which is now led by Doanld Trump.

While still racing, he had endorsed the president nominee John Connally against Ronald Reagan in 1980 and in 1993 he even led a political action committee for Republican candidates. In 2016 he even has made appearance with Donald Trump on the stage.

Petty has also help political offices with the support from the party. He was part of the county commission in 1980.1982 and 1990. In 1993 he was the Republican party nominee for the North Caroline Secretary of State election, but he unfortunately lost it.
