“Is Tony sharing his crack with him”- Former WWE champion boldly claims AEW wouldn’t exist without him; leaves wrestling fans in splits
Wrestling fans go off on former WWE Superstar after he claims that he is the reason why AEW exists in today's wrestling landscape.
Ricochet claims he is the reason for AEW's existence (via AEW)
Ricochet left WWE in July 2024 after his contract expired. He was allegedly facing a lot of creative frustration within the company and wanted to explore elsewhere to prove himself. He has since become a permanent addition to AEW. However, it is possible that he may be overestimating his role within the company.
Speaking on 1035 Kiss FM, an interviewer asked Ricochet if he was made for a company such as AEW. The high-flyer said that the answer was an obvious yes. He said that while he did not think of himself as the sole reason, if there was no Ricochet, there would be no AEW.
The 36-year-old felt that all the work that he had done, which included his matches with Will Ospreay, AR Fox, and PAC; his matches overseas; and his work with PWG, had all helped in setting up a wrestling environment where a company like AEW could exist. Of course, he did give due credit to guys like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Will Ospreay.

This is not the first time that Ricochet has made such claims since joining AEW. A few weeks ago, he made bold claims that he was going to carry AEW on his back. Of course, he was heavily trolled online for these remarks and is facing the same backlash right now.
Wrestling fans hysterical after Ricochet claims AEW would not exist without him
The wrestling world was surprised to hear such bold claims from Ricochet. Fans pointed out the hypocrisy in his statement. He initially did not want to call himself the sole reason. However, the Highlight of the Night immediately followed it up by taking all the credit for the company’s existence. A fan even joked that he had begun doing drugs with AEW CEO Tony Khan.
Many fans were surprised to see the sudden attitude shift that the former Intercontinental Champion had gone through since leaving WWE. They claimed he had a huge ego, especially for someone in the midcard scene. Some still wanted to believe that he was in character. However, that possibility has been dwindling by the day.

Both Ricochet and his fiancée, Samantha Irvin, have been indulged in a beef with fans on social media. The former ring announcer has become relentless with her tweets and is constantly berating fans who attack her or her romantic partner.
