Ricochet became the inaugural Speed Champion after he defeated Johnny Gargano in the finals of the tournament. The whole program was telecast on X, and since winning the title, the high-flyer hasn’t defended it on TV. He explained on social media why this was the case.

The One and Only took to X and stated that X paid a large amount of money to the company. He said it was the main reason why the Speed show was exclusively shown on their platform. Additionally, the Speed title was recently defended on the social media platform, where Ricochet defeated Tyler Bate to retain the title.

Despite his title victory, he hasn’t been able to replicate the same kind of success on Monday Night Raw. Ricochet participated in the King of the Ring tournament but unfortunately came up short against Ilja Dragunov in a fantastic match. On the latest episode of Raw, he suffered the wrath of Bron Breakker, who speared him backstage out of frustration for not being included in the King of the Ring tournament.

Because a specific company paid a specific amount of money to have a specific show and title, EXCLUSIVELY be shown on their specific platform.

Although The Mad Dragon said that Breakker would pay for his actions, the former Intercontinental Champion hasn’t responded yet. It won’t be a surprise if the WWE Universe witnesses a fierce rivalry between the two stars in an upcoming episode.

Will Ospreay got sad thinking about WWE’s booking of Ricochet

Will Ospreay and Ricochet have always spoken very highly of each other. Ospreay even labeled Ricochet as one of the greatest high-flyers of all time. However, he wasn’t happy with the booking decision that The One and Only had to endure. Ospreay expressed his disappointment in an interview about the misuse of Ricochet’s talent.

While speaking in an interview with Comicbook.com, The Aerial Assassin talked about how sad he was seeing Ricochet. First, he hoped that the 35-year-old was happy with where he was. Ospreay then stated that, without a doubt, Ricochet was one of the best high-flyers of this generation, even putting him in the same category as Rey Mysterio.

I hope he's not sad and I hope he's real happy. The fact that they only value his time for under five minutes is appalling to me. When it came to this generation of high-flyers, he was the greatest. He's the greatest high-flyer ever. I know it sounds weird, but I do include him on the same level as Rey Mysterio.

However, the British wrestler isn’t the only one praising him, as Raw superstar Dijak also called him one of the greatest high-flyers in history. With his contract expiring this year, Ospreay would want nothing more than for Ricochet to leave the company and showcase his worth somewhere else. Only time will tell what the future holds for the extremely talented Speed Champion.
