Ricochet made his AEW debut at the All-In pay-per-view by participating in the Casino Gauntlet match. Despite not winning the match, the charismatic high-flyer delivered an excellent performance, as he always does. However, his reason for leaving the Stamford-based company wasn’t initially revealed. He has now finally opened up about why he jumped ship from WWE to AEW.

While speaking with Steven Muehlhausen of Sports Illustrated, The One & Only revealed the main reason behind leaving WWE. He stated that it was all about having fun, traveling the world, and wrestling with his friends. Unfortunately, over time, he lost the ‘fun’ he had described and wanted a change of scenery. This was one of the main reasons Ricochet decided to leave WWE.

After his incredible performance in the Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In, Ricochet was challenged by Don Callis and Kyle Fletcher. The young star faced Ricochet on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite and secured a comprehensive victory. After the match, he was confronted by the very person who had wanted him in the company, the newly crowned AEW International Champion, Will Ospreay. However, PAC soon attacked him from behind.

Honestly, the biggest reason is that I've been doing this for a long time, 21 years this year. And for me, the time when I was having the most fun in my career was when I was traveling the world with those crazy lunatics in the back there. It's literally the time when I was having the most fun. Despite what people may think, it's not always been bad for Ricochet.

By the looks of it, there is no doubt in wrestling fans’ minds that the 35-year-old star will soon battle Ospreay for the title. However, in a recent interview, The Aerial Assassin asserted that he would need to climb the ranks to challenge for the title. It will be interesting to see if the former Intercontinental Champion can achieve greater success with the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Ricochet talked about his dream matches after making his AEW debut

The wrestling world is excited to see Ricochet compete against some of AEW’s top talent following his debut. It’s safe to say that the 35-year-old wrestler is also eager to go up against some of them. He recently shared which wrestlers he would like to face in the Jacksonville-based company.

In the same interview, the 35-year-old wrestler revealed that he and PAC have had a long-standing rivalry. Ricochet noted that both stars have gotten the better of each other a few times, and he would like to revisit their rivalry with the Death Triangle member. The One & Only admitted that he hadn’t forgotten about his old rival.

PAC is a guy with whom I have a lot of unfinished business. He and I, our past, and in Japan, we've had a crazy past. He's beat me a bunch. I beat him a bunch. That's something that's going to be rekindled too. Honestly, if you remember, before Ricochet and Ospreay, it was Ricochet and PAC lighting the world on fire. I haven't forgotten about him.

However, Ricochet also mentioned his storied rivalry with Will Ospreay and stated that their paths would cross again in the future. He also mentioned Kyle Fletcher, his opponent in his first AEW match, and expressed interest in facing him again. The 35-year-old further added that with so many potential opponents, it was hard for him to choose just one.
