With the way WWE’s version of The Bloodline is evolving, it seems to be a never-ending saga. For obvious reasons, almost everyone wants to have a crack at the Samoan stable because its plot is a sure-shot main event material. Real-life Bloodline member Rikishi has now opened up about whether he would return to be an on-screen figure in the faction’s tale.
The Samoan Stinker, on his podcast, Rikishi Fatu Off The Top, said he’d rather work for both sides than have to pick one. However, he added that if that hypothetical role calls for frequent TV appearances, including travel across the country, he’s not on the board. Having dedicated over three decades to pro wrestling, the 58-year-old is now at a stage where he just wants to spend some quality time with his loved ones.
One might place a safe bet on Rikishi‘s dwindling chances of being inserted into the Bloodline story. His best shot to return was when two of his sons, Jey and Jimmy, were thirsty for each other’s blood. The brothers had a singles match this year at WrestleMania. As emotional as the lead-up to that showdown was, the actual bout fell flat on its head.
Would I be interested? Of course I would. But it’d just have to work for both sides. I’m at a part of my life, it’s like more than wrestling to me now............if the demands of being a part of The Bloodline, if in case it comes to the point where I need to be on the road a lot, then I’m not kind of interested.Rikishi via his podcast Rikishi Fatu Off The Top
It was even considered by many to be the worst brother-versus-brother match in history. Rikishi also proffered his two cents on it. He said he’s extremely proud of his sons and felt that their match should’ve gone on a little bit longer. “Main Event” Jey later confirmed during an interview that some minutes were indeed deducted from his one-on-one WrestleMania debut. That night, the younger brother, Jey, got the better of the older one.
Rikishi was disappointed with Jey Uso’s loss at Money in the Bank this year
Earlier this month, at Money in the Bank, Jey Uso had it served out on a silver platter, it appeared, to win the men’s MITB contract. However, as it turned out, Drew McIntyre was the one to unhook that briefcase.
And even though the fans in the arena seemed to relish the route WWE went with, Rikishi, not so much. Speaking on his podcast, the former 3-time Tag Team Champion said it kind of hit the nerve.
He quoted the merchandise pull Jey has and the way the crowd reacts to his entrance. The Usos’ pops affirmed Yeet as a key catchphrase that’s been making WWE stacks of money lately.
