Two athletes are in the clear to compete in women’s boxing at the Paris Olympics after being disqualified last year. They were DQed from 2023’s World Championships for failing to meet eligibility criteria. Now Riley Gaines, a former competitive swimmer from Gallatin, Tennessee has torn through Imane Khelif for her part in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Riley Marie Gaines, a University of Kentucky NCAA swim team alum, has long been a vocal opponent of trans women’s participation in women’s sports. To that end, she has delved into the topic of transgender athletes against the women crop while hosting OutKick and FOX Nation podcast (@foxnation / X) ‘Gaines for Girls’.

As if the Satanic display at the opening ceremony wasnt enough, the Olympics glorifies men punching women in the face with the intent of knocking them unconscious...Imane Khelif is 1 of 2 male boxers fighting women at the Olympics. A woman is going to die.

The description was teed off with footage of Khelif dominantly pressuring opponent Brianda Cruz in the ring, in old footage. Mexican boxer Brianda Tamara had voiced similar concerns when she faced her before, saying she had not faced such hits even parrying with men. International Boxing Association had DQed Khelif. But with the IOC cutting ties, there’s now an ad-hoc unit and qualification that allows them for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Welterweight Imane Khelif faces Italy’s Angela Carini on Thursday. Women’s Welterweight (Round of 16), and Men’s Heavyweight (Quarterfinals) take shape from 5 a.m. ET – 9:30 a.m. ET. Full live streaming coverage comes at the courtesy of NBCOlympics.com/Peacock. Matter of fact, this isn’t Gaines’ first go at the topic.

Riley Gaines has long lambasted trans women’s participation

Last year, Taiwan’s Lin Yu-Ting lost bronze in the March 2023 event after failing a gender eligibility test. International Olympic Committee (IOC) also showed Algeria’s Imane Khelif DQed for failing a testosterone test pool. International Boxing Association (@IBA_Boxing) president Umar Kremlev said with them having XY chromosomes, a step was necessary.

With IBA no longer under the recognition of the IOC, spokesman Mark Adams said the ad-hoc preparation meant striking a balance between a fair assortment of trans-athletes with their chosen gender suitability. As well as maintaining everyone can take part. REDUXX (@ReduxxMag) first noted that Khelif and Yu-Ting would be part of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Riley Gaines, who once led a legal tirade on the NCAA over transgender athletes’ inclusion in collegiate competitions, took issue. Check out a few X snippets from her end on her stance:

REDUXX had also reported trans-identified male Lizzy Cohen Bidwell (Lucas) in the girl’s division of the New England Interscholastic Track and Field. Before that, it was trans swimmer Lia Thomas who she took an umbrage with. Last year, Gaines testified at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing LGBTQ civil rights, according to C-SPAN.

She and the anti-trans group Independent Women’s Voice (IWV) drew the line on the sand on trans participation many times. This has been a hot topic for quite a long minute. And Riley Gaines will always be front and center, promoting women’s safety first.
