Report: Riot Games Considering India for Valorant Champions tour

Riot Games Considering India: The Valorant Champions Tour of the Riot Games will bring Valorant its first competition on the world circuit. But when the news about this new tourney was announced by Riot Games, India was seemingly left out, which disturb Indian Fans.

According to sources of IGN India,  It seems that Riot Games can seriously take India as the Valorant market. Sources say that the Company plans to give an Indian team a place on its Valorant Champions Tour through a national tournament. The Valorant Champions Tour is Riot’s first official esports competition tour, which focused on year-long regional events leading to a champions event.

But Riot has now reached several local ecosystem stakeholders to make this possible. How that would take place would be an interesting thing to watch. Riot’s India operations are currently made up of two participants who depend on local organisers of tournament events.

Although fans have complained that Riot has for some time ignored the Indian Valorant Scene, this event has certainly made many Valorant fans from South Asia feel a smile. This is a potential move.

This decision should, however, not be as surprising as that. Teams from India have proven their skills repeatedly on the shooter and have succeeded in competing in the top levels of the Asian Valorant scene. Looking into the VLR.GG rankings, Team Mahi and Global Esports are among the top 15 APAC teams. Indeed, India’s initial omission from the tournament roster, as well as the company’s low profile, was surprising because it was pleased with the response from India when Valorant was launched.

Tencent owns Riot Games

The report states that many gaming stakeholders commented on the behavior of Riot Games. It said that probably because of an assault against China-owned technology companies in India, Riot wanted to avoid attention. Riot Games belongs to Tencent for the record. This also questions the amount of Riot Games in India that will be present at the tournament. The fairness of the game in a tournament also comes into question. If third-party organizers arrange the tournament, how many responsibilities will there be in Riot? We must wait and see.
