India vs England 2021: WATCH – Rishabh Pant hits a stunning one-handed six in the second ODI
Rishabh Pant
India were thumped by England in the second ODI thanks to an explosive batting performance that saw Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes flatten the hosts’ bowlers to guide England to a big chase. Earlier, India were put in to bat and they put up a total of 336/6 on the board thanks to a stunning century from KL Rahul as well as brutal hitting at the death from Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya.
Pant was playing in his first ODI since February of last year but he took to batting in the format with swashbuckling elegance. He tore apart the English pacers by never allowing them to settle and chasing after every delivery. Pant scored 77 runs off just 40 balls and looked good to get to the fastest hundred by an Indian but he holed out to Jason Roy off Tom Curran‘s bowling in the 47th over.
Watch Rishabh Pant’s one-handed six
Rishabh Pant hit a total of seven sixes during his knock but the pick of the lot was an unbelievable one-handed six that he hit off all-rounder Sam Curran. The bowler had bowled a slower one on the third ball of the 46th over. Pant chased the delivery and threw his hands at the ball. Due to the slower nature of the delivery, Pant was slightly deceived and couldn’t stay in control of the shot.
However, such was the power Pant generated that the ball flew for a six. The Indian dug-out was completely loving and so was the commentary box as the youngster came up with yet another enthralling shot.
The third ODI takes place on the 28th of March.
