India vs England 2021: WATCH – Bad call from Virat Kohli results in Rishabh Pant’s run-out
England players celebrate a wicket
With the first two T20Is between India and England ending with each team winning one apiece, the ongoing third T20I is crucial in deciding the outcome of the series. Taking place behind closed doors at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the last three tests could be the final ones before the ICC T20 World Cup which will take place later this year in India. That is exactly why the series would be crucial in each team deciding on its best team combination.
In the third T20I, India were put in to bat and they got off to a horror start as they lost KL Rahul for a duck for the second time in the series. Rohit Sharma who had come in for Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t last long either. With Ishan Kishan also not holding fort for too long, it was left to Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant to steady the ship. They were going well when an unfortunate run-out led to the partnership breaking.
Watch – Rishabh Pant’s unfortunate run-out
In the 12th over bowled by Sam Curran, the first ball was glanced by Rishabh Pant to the sweeper cover region. Pant and Kohli set off for a double and got in safely when Jos Buttler tried a fancy flick on to the stumps. Pant had then gone deep into the crease when Kohli called for another run through overthrows. While the Indian skipper made his ground comfortably, Pant was sold down the river.
Pant went for a full-stretch dive but was unable to make it on time. The umpire went upstairs to check and replays clearly showed that Pant was not home.
