The pride of India, Ritu Phogat moves one step closer to achieve the dream that her father saw to make India proud at the international regime. Ritu is on a four-fight win streak in one championship with an excellent record of 4-0.

She last fought against Jomary Torres in December 2020 and won his fourth straight fight with a first-round TKO. This Wednesday One championship announced that the organization is planning to host an eight-women Atomweight World Grand Prix.

According to One Championship, the tournament will start on May 28th and the winner will get a chance to face the current One Championship Atomweight champion Angela Lee in November. Here is the complete list of all the participants:-

Out of these eight fighters, three of them are ranked in the Atomweight division of One Championship. Denice Zamboanga (1st ranked), Meng Bo (2nd ranked), and Stamp Fairtex (5th ranked). This tournament is going to be a real test for Ritu Phogat.

Ritu Phogat seems to be pretty happy with the news to become the first Indian women to enter the world championship grand Prix. She shared her happiness with her fans via Tweet which says,

“Hey guys, I had to come back on Twitter coz the news is that great. Here it is – the first Indian woman to enter the world championship Grand Prix and my first step towards my goal of becoming the first-ever Indian world champion in MMA History. I need your blessings and wishes.”
