There have been some strange bowling actions that have been seen in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The likes of Kedar Jadhav and Lasith Malinga are well-known for their side-arm actions. Even Ravichandran Ashwin came up with a side-arm delivery recently in the match against Chennai Super Kings. But, Rajasthan Royals(RR) Riyan Parag outdid all of them with an almost under-arm delivery.

The delivery was bowled during the 10th over of Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) innings when KL Rahul and Chris Gayle were going well after getting set. The West Indian was especially beginning to open up when the young spinner was brought on to bowl. After being hit for a four off the first ball by Rahul, Parag conceded only singles off the next three balls. In the third ball of the over came the side-arm delivery.

In the third ball of the over, Riyan Parag bowled a round arm delivery that seemed too low. It almost seemed like he was delivering from the ball angling his arm in an upward movement than a low movement. The ball turned out to be a full delivery that Gayle drove to long-off for a single. The umpire then went on to warn Parag for the action stating that anything lower and it would be illegal.

Off the 5th ball of the over then, Parag went on to pick the wicket of the big fish as he had the West Indian caught at long-on where Ben Stokes took a stunning catch. Parag then went on to bring out his Bihu dance moves as the RR camp was a happy bunch.
