The roast of Tom Brady will arguably go down as one of the greatest public humiliations that an accomplished athlete has been subjected to. The evening was highlighted by a string of performances from Brady’s former teammates and notable comedians such as Jeff Ross, Kevin Hart, Bert Kreischer, and Sam Jay.

However, the most hyped performance of the night was from none other than Rob Gronkowski, the greatest teammate of Tom Brady. In his most recent appearance on the Games with Names podcast with Julian Edelman, the former TE revealed his experience as a roaster on the Greatest Roast of All Time.

The tight end compared the evening to the biggest stage in the NFL,

It was one of the best nights of my life...it might be better than the Super Bowls because it was three hours just like a Super Bowl game and we didn't get hit for those three hours and it was just as exciting!

Gronkowski’s comparison cannot be dismissed, after all, some of the biggest names in Hollywood were in attendance at the event. While the former Patriot did not take physical hits through the three hours, they did take a lot of hits to their ego and pride.

Rob Gronkowski had one of the best nights of his life at Tom Brady’s roast

Another unmissable fact at Brady’s roast was the condition in which Gronk was throughout the night. The former NFL tight end was clearly having the best time of his life, being his true, jovial self, but at times, things did get a bit out of hand as Gronk seemed to be a bit-out-of-his element too.

It was no surprise that he had one too-many to drink, a fact that he admitted to on the podcast.

I felt like I wasn't even inside my body when I got up there. First off, I finished a bottle of tequila, I haven't been drunk like that in quite some time and tequila is like an upper...and then the bottle girls were bringing drinks to us as well, so when I got up there, I was hammed dude. Like that tequila amped me up when I stood on stage...

The fans saw it Gronk! You had a great night and were clearly enjoying yourself, which is fair, considering the tight end is a party animal.

There were points throughout the show where Gronkowski made fans question if alcohol was the only thing he had consumed during the evening, but as he said, when he got up to the podium to do his bit, he was struggling to stand up straight.

He still managed to nail his bit and at times. He went ‘rogue’ by feeding off the crowd’s energy and making jokes that were not on the teleprompter. All-in-all, his performance, was truly the highlight of the night!
