John Cena is all set to embark on his last dance in WWE next year. After he announced his retirement a few months ago at Money in the Bank, a lot of stars have expressed their desire to face him one more time. Now, it seems like another legend is interested in facing the Greatest of All Time in his retirement tour.
The star in question is Rob Van Dam. One fan on X asked him to come out of retirement once to face the Cenation Leader. The WWE Hall of Famer wasted no time in responding. The former ECW Champion quoted the post and said that this idea enticed him.
For those unversed, Cena and RVD squared off against each other for the first time at ECW One Night Stand 2006. In an epic battle, the Hall of Famer dethroned Cena to become WWE Champion. Van Dam has not officially retired from wrestling. In fact, he has competed for rival company, AEW, a couple of times in the past year. Therefore, a rematch between the two legends cannot be ruled out at all.
Speaking of the retirement tour, John Cena has confirmed that he will be appearing for 35 dates. He is expected to go up against a lot of young talents and several legends in this last ride. Recently, Kevin Owens also expressed his desire to face the 16-time World Champion one more time.
Moreover, Cena has announced that he will be appearing at Raw’s debut on Netflix. It is likely that his last chapter would begin on the same episode. Nonetheless, it is going to be interesting to see how many stars actually get to face Cena for one last time next year.
Roman Reigns responds to John Cena calling him greatest of all time
Roman Reigns and John Cena have been iconic rivals in WWE. They have faced each other on multiple occasions and have praised each other off screen. A few weeks ago, the Cenation Leader called the Tribal Chief the greatest of all time in WWE. Recently, Reigns responded to this with an interesting affirmation.
Speaking on Bloomberg Power Players, the Tribal Chief called it a subjective opinion. Despite that, he gave his thoughts over being called the greatest of all time. He said he would agree with the 16-time World Champion if he thinks so. He added that coming from someone like Mr. Hustle Loyalty Respect, this fact cannot be denied.
As far as what John said, I kind of witnessed and observed his early reign as WWE’s top guy and face of the company. Nobody knows better about everything that it takes to get to that point and be in that conversation. I guess I’m just going to agree with him.Roman Reigns via Bloomberg Power Players
The Needle Mover has recently turned babyface. His four-year heel run helped WWE reach unprecedented levels of success in the past few years. Hence, the case of him being the GOAT cannot be denied.
