The college football season has started, and Robert Griffin III seems to be enjoying the thrill of watching the games as he was astounded by the unbelievable airborne interception by Rob Carter Jr. against Utah State on Saturday Night match.
Despite entering the game as underdogs, Robert Morris Colonials overpowered Utah State by 14-10 till the first half. After adding a pair of touchdowns, Carter Jr.’s remarkable playmaking happened in the final moments of the first half, when the Colonials defensive back made an acrobatic catch during the opponents’ potential game-winning score.
As they launched the ball, Carter Jr. leapt high into the air and snatched the ball by making a 360-spin, resulting in an interception. Being amazed by the play, the former NFL player-turned-analyst couldn’t hold himself from commenting on his reaction on social media.
What the f**k did I just watch.Robert Griffin III wrote on his official X handle with a blown-away emoji
The sports analyst absolutely loved the play, but he isn’t the only one. This play by the Colonials’ defensive back is being considered as arguably the best play of college football this season. Even though they couldn’t snatch a victory, Utah State came through remarkably after the half and outperformed the former by 36-14.
Robert Griffin III grateful for ESPN experience despite surprising firing
The former ESPN analyst has been quite in the news in recent times, not just for being replaced by the Hall of Fame-worthy Jason Kelce on the “Monday Night Countdown,”, but mainly for being fired by ESPN. But RG3 has no grudges from the network, instead, after less than a week of his infamous departure, he expressed gratitude for his time working with them.
I'm just thankful for everything that I was able to experience at ESPN. I really enjoyed my time there, and I'm gonna miss the people that work behind the camera because they don't get a lot of love and respect because the front-facing people are the ones that get all the praise.Robert Griffin III said in a statement to USA TODAY Sports
The sports analyst had two years remaining on his contract with ESPN, but after the sudden firing, he would be given his seven-figure annual salary. Besides spending his time promoting his podcast “Outta Pocket with RGIII,” he hasn’t mentioned anything regarding his future plans to the media.
