Robert MacIntyre, the 27-year-old Scottish golfer, had an “absolutely wild” celebration after winning the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open on home soil. In his post-round interview, MacIntyre rated the party a 10 out of 10.

The victory was a lifetime goal for MacIntyre. He won in dramatic fashion, making a 22-foot birdie putt on the final hole to clinch the title. The win came just days before the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon.

I'm not a big drinker, but when you get moments like that, and you've got family and friends there that have backed you since you were a young kid, it was quite right to go absolutely wild. We did a good job of that. After this week's over, I'll sit down with my team and we'll reflect on it and probably celebrate again because it was a lifetime goal.

Adam Scott finished runner-up, one shot back at 17-under. Ludvig Aberg, who led by two entering the final round, struggled to a 3-over 73 and tied for 4th. The Scottish Open was held July 11-14, 2024 at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick. It was the third straight year the PGA Tour co-sanctioned the event with the DP World Tour.

The field consisted of around 75 players from each tour, including stars like Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood. This was MacIntyre’s second PGA Tour win of the season, having also won the RBC Canadian Open in June. He became only the second Scottish player to win multiple PGA Tour events in a single season, joining Sandy Lyle who accomplished the feat in 1988.
